RUSKA

The difference is clear the moment you pick it up. The surface isn’t slippery or plastic-y, but warm and natural. It’s the kind of feel that makes a phone case more than just protection. This elegant case works just as well on a hike as it does on the red carpet. Personalize it with your own engraving and add MagSafe compatibility if you like.

RUSKA – dark red wooden phone cases & phone cases
from genuine Nordic birch | iPhone, Samsung, OnePlus, Pixel, Realme

The second week of September in Lapland: the whole fellside changes color in just a few days, and nobody manages to photograph it in time. RUSKA is a dark red wooden phone case made from genuine Nordic birch – that shade, captured. The color is absorbed into the wood, so the grain shows through and no two are alike. Fits iPhone 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, Samsung Galaxy, OnePlus, Google Pixel and Realme models. Add MagSafe, engraving or your own image and create your own RUSKA Case.

If you’ve been looking for red phone cases and only found screaming silicone, RUSKA is a more understated way to carry color. Want your own image or logo? See the design guide →

Material: Genuine birch, deep autumn red

Shade
Ruska
  • Dark red Nordic birch – a deep, warm autumn shade with the wood grain showing through. Burgundy in daylight, almost brown under a lamp.
  • Water-resistant, non-toxic lacquer – meets EN 71-3 requirements (the same safety level as children’s wooden toys).
  • The feel of wood stays – warm in the hand, not slippery, not plastic. In cold weather, you’ll feel the difference right away.

Millions carry a yellowed silicone case and call it transparent. RUSKA doesn’t yellow, because the color isn’t on the surface – it’s in the wood.

Made in the Nordics since 2011 – made to order, not for the shelf

Lastu was founded in Finland in 2011. For over 15 years, we’ve made every Case to order – not for stock, not for the shelf, not en masse. When a Case is made only after the order is placed, not a single piece ends up as unsold stock waste. It’s the simplest way to make less unnecessary stuff – and also why you’ll have to wait a few days for your Case.

The birch in the RUSKA Case comes from FSC-certified Nordic forests. We support The Ocean Cleanup, which develops ways to collect plastic waste from the oceans.

Construction and protection

+ Textured edge profile – birch grips by nature and doesn’t slide off the table like glossy plastic. A wooden phone case stays in your hand and doesn’t start skating away.
RUSKA dark red wooden phone case – textured birch edge gives a secure grip in the hand
+ Raised edge protects the screen – your phone rests on its edges, not its screen. That millimeter matters surprisingly often. Drop protection test →
RUSKA dark red phone case – raised edge protects the screen, the glass does not touch the surface
+ Raised camera frame – the lens doesn’t touch the table. Camera intact, color deep.
RUSKA birch phone case – raised camera frame protects lenses from scratches
+ Thin and light. Birch is naturally lighter than most plastic phone cases – it doesn’t feel bulky in your pocket or look like it.
+ MagSafe-compatible option available – wireless charging and magnetic accessories work at full power. MagSafe vs regular cases →
+ Engraving or your own image – initials, coordinates, logo or symbol. The live preview shows the result before you order. Engraving options →

Not from stock. For you, made to order.

Screen protector · LEKA

Autumn colors on the back, LEKA on the screen

RUSKA carries deep autumn red on the back of your phone. Protect the part you look at most, too: the LEKA screen protector is a made-to-measure protective film cut to order – feels like glass, lasts better than tempered glass.

  • +Precision-fit screen protector – protective film laser-cut exactly for your phone model (iPhone, Samsung, OnePlus, Pixel). Not a ready-made shelf product, but made to order for you.
  • +Nano PET, not tempered glass – flexes and won’t crack during installation like tempered glass. No scratches, no yellowing, full touch accuracy.
  • +2 pcs / €14.90 – two screen protector films for the price of one tempered glass protector. Keep the other as a spare.

Frequently asked questions

The RUSKA photos show a compass engraving – is it included?

Not automatically. The engravings in the photos are examples – you choose your own on the product page. Engravings from our collection are free, and you can add your own image, logo or text instead. The live preview shows the result before you order.

Is RUSKA bright red?

No – RUSKA is a deep dark red: wine-red in daylight, almost brown under lamplight. The dye is absorbed into the birch, so the grain shows through and every case varies slightly in tone.

Will the red fade over time?

The colour is in the wood, not a surface paint, so it doesn't chip. Like any wood tone, RUSKA may lighten a little if the case sits in direct sunlight for long periods. In normal use any change is slow and even.

What's the difference between RUSKA and HORSMA?

Both are dyed real birch. RUSKA is dark red and understated, HORSMA a brighter magenta. Engravings show as a light line on both.

When will RUSKA arrive if I'm ordering it as a gift?

Your case is made to order in 2–10 days and then takes 2–5 working days to arrive. Free shipping is an untracked letter – choose tracked shipping at checkout if you want a tracking code.

For a gift or a specific date, allow about two weeks and choose tracked shipping.

Does RUSKA work with MagSafe on Android too?

Yes. When you add MagSafe (+€5), the magnetic ring is built into the case, not the phone. That's why MagSafe chargers, car mounts and Lastu accessories also work on Samsung, OnePlus, Pixel and Realme.

What our customers say

Customer Reviews

Overall rating: 4.8 / 5 from 937 reviews.

Kuori on hieno, laadukas ja tuntuu hyvältä kädessä. Materiaali toki on sellainen, että alkaa käytön jäljet näkymään. Alkaa haalistumaan niistä kohdista mistä puhelinta useimmiten pitää kiinni.

Customer photo review of KELO – Puhelimen kuoret tervatusta koivusta

Kuvaan luonnon kauneutta ja Lastu sopii siihen mainiosti, puhelimesta saa hyvän otteen eikä luista käsissä, yksi tähti pois koska reunat saisivat olla vähän pehmeämmät. Tyylikäs ja hyvin istuva, kestävyys selviää aikanaan.

KELO – Puhelimen kuoret tervatusta koivusta

Kiinnitys parempi ns. Popsoketissa. Jospa nyt toimisi pidempään eikä menisi käytössä heti väljäksi. Onneksi olette kehitelleet saranaa uudeksi

TERWA – Puhelimen kuoret tervatusta koivusta

HIILI – Puhelimen kuoret mustasta koivusta

Kuoret on erittäin toimivat, napit toimii hyvin, ainut miinus oli että korttikotelo meni vähän kameran eteen, mutta sekin kääntyi positiiviseksi, tekevät uudet kuoret ja entiset saa jäädä varalle. Erittäin hyvää palveluu, laatu tuote. Korttikotelo ja sormipidike tuli kanssa mukaan tilaukseen.

Jouko S. 5/5 Verified

TERWA – Puhelimen kuoret tervatusta koivusta

Mikko K. 4/5 Verified

TERWA – Puhelimen kuoret tervatusta koivusta

HIILI – Puhelimen kuoret mustasta koivusta 🇫🇮

Jukka H. 5/5 Verified

KELO – Puhelimen kuoret tervatusta koivusta

KAAMOS – Puhelimen kuoret aidosta koivusta
