What MagSafe is and how it works in Lastu cases
The magnet that changes everything
No glue, no stickers, no fiddling. The accessory clicks into place and stays there. This page explains what MagSafe means in a Lastu case and what you actually do with it.
What is MagSafe?
MagSafe is a ring of magnets built into the phone case. The ring pulls an accessory — a charger, a wallet, a grip or a stand — into exactly the right position and holds it there without glue or mechanical clips. Apple introduced the system on iPhone, but the same magnet ring works just as well on Samsung, OnePlus, Pixel and Nothing Phone when it sits in the right place inside the case.

A three-minute video shows magnetic alignment in practice: how an accessory finds its place, why wireless charging lands on target and how one case serves several situations.

What is MagSafe used for?
- Wireless charging: the charging coil lines up by itself, so power doesn't drop because of a sloppy position.
- Card wallet: your everyday cards travel behind the phone and come off in a second. See the KARB card wallet.
- Grip and stand: a better one-handed hold, and a viewing angle on the desk. See the KRIP 2.0 finger grip.
- Car mount: on and off with one hand, no spring-loaded jaws.
- Magnetic power bank: a battery clicks onto the back and charges on the move.
Is MagSafe an iPhone-only thing?
No. Lastu fits the magnet ring into any case in the range, so magnetic mounting works on Android phones too. In practice this means the same wallet or grip moves from an iPhone to a Samsung without buying anything new.
A side-by-side comparison: MagSafe on iPhone and Android – do you need a MagSafe case?
One case, every accessory
Lastu's MagSafe option is designed to work with every MagSafe accessory on the market — not only ours. Chargers, car mounts, desk stands, magnetic batteries and other brands' wallets all attach to the same ring. You can swap accessories through the day: a wallet in the morning, a mount in the car, a charger in the evening.
The attachment feels the same every time: precise, firm and predictable. That is the whole point — an accessory is not a permanent decision.
Made by Lastu
KRIP 2.0 and KARB
Lastu makes two MagSafe accessories of its own. Both are picked as a MagSafe add-on on the case product page, once the MagSafe option has been selected for the case.
KRIP 2.0 — finger grip and desk stand
A black aluminium ring that clicks magnetically onto the back of the case. A finger through the ring gives a firm hold even on a large phone, and folding the ring out stands the phone on a desk in both portrait and landscape. The ring folds flat against the case, so the phone still slips into a pocket normally.
An aluminium surface doesn't get slippery in cold or damp hands the way plastic does, and the mechanism is rated for 10,000 folds. Because the mount is magnetic rather than glued, the grip moves from case to case in seconds and leaves no marks. Take it off for wireless charging, since the metal sits over the charging coil.
KARB — MagSafe card wallet
A slim magnetic wallet holding up to four cards — three slide in and out most easily. The wallet covers only the magnet area, so the material of the case stays visible around the edges, and a thumb notch lets you lift the top card out one-handed.
Remove it by sliding sideways rather than pulling it straight off: the sideways movement releases the magnetic field gradually and keeps the hold firm for years. With the wallet off, wireless charging runs at full power — so the same case carries your cards and charges without a compromise.
What to know before ordering
On some Samsung, OnePlus and Nothing models the magnet ring sits slightly lower, because the camera area takes up the top of the case. Accessories — wallet, grip, stand — still work normally, but magnetic wireless charging may not line up with the coil. This does not apply to iPhone or Google Pixel models.
If magnetic wireless charging is your main use case, check the specific model with customer service before ordering.
Frequently asked questions about MagSafe
Do I need a special case for MagSafe?
Yes. The magnet ring is in the case, not in the phone. Without a case that has the MagSafe option, accessories will not attach even if your phone model is supported. Select the MagSafe option on the product page before ordering.
Does MagSafe work on an Android phone?
It does. Lastu fits the same magnet ring into Samsung, OnePlus, Google Pixel, Nothing and Realme cases. Magnetic accessories behave exactly as they do on an iPhone.
Will a MagSafe magnet damage my bank card?
Modern chip and contactless cards are not damaged by the magnet. An old-style magnetic stripe could in theory weaken after long, tight contact. We cover this in detail in Does a MagSafe magnet damage bank cards?
Do other brands' MagSafe accessories fit Lastu cases?
They do. Lastu's magnet ring follows the same layout as other MagSafe-compatible products, so chargers, stands, batteries and wallets work regardless of brand.
How do I remove a MagSafe accessory correctly?
Slide it sideways rather than pulling it straight off. The sideways movement releases the magnets gently and does not stress the surface of the case.
