FAQ: Wooden phone cases – Genuine Nordic birch
Is a Lastu wooden case made entirely of wood?
The back is a single layer of real birch, framed by a flexible shock-absorbing bumper that grips the phone tightly and lifts the screen and camera off the table. The grain runs through the surface – it isn't printed.
Which wood tones are available?
Why does the engraving look different on different cases?
The laser burns the mark into the wood, so the engraving colour is always the wood's own tone, from pale yellow to golden brown. On dark tones it shows light; on light LUMI it shows brown. That variation is natural, not a defect.
Can a wooden case handle moisture and everyday knocks?
The surface is lacquered to repel water and dirt, so rain and splashes are fine – but it isn't waterproof. The flexible frame absorbs impacts and raised edges protect the screen and camera when you set the phone down.
What if the wood cracks or the back comes loose?
Manufacturing and material defects are covered by a 6-month warranty, and we make a new case based on a photo (info@lastu.co). After the warranty, you can replace a worn case with a new one at half price.
How do I care for a wooden case?
Wipe with a damp cloth and dry it. Avoid solvents and alcohol, and don't leave it wet for long. The wood develops a patina – it darkens slightly but doesn't yellow like silicone.
