The most important thing is that a case protects — so what makes up Lastu’s protection?
Your phone cost hundreds of euros. It travels in your pocket, on tables, and in your hand — and sooner or later, it will fall. Will it survive?
Lastu has been making phone cases since 2011. In fifteen years, you learn pretty precisely where the impact lands and which part of the phone breaks first. Let’s go through what Lastu’s protection is made of, point by point.
What is the best phone case?
Not the one with the most plastic. The best phone case is the one you don’t notice you’re using: it doesn’t slip, doesn’t make your phone bulky, and doesn’t get in the way. Protection comes down to three things: a camera bump that keeps the lenses off surfaces, raised edges that take the hit before the screen does, and a grippy material — because a phone that stays in your hand doesn’t fall.
The camera doesn’t touch the surface
On modern phones, the camera module sits above the frame. Without a case, it’s the first part that hits the table — every time you put your phone down. The lenses are also the most expensive and scratch-sensitive surface on the phone.
Lastu’s camera bump rises above the level of the lenses. When the phone lies on its back on a table or presses against fabric in your pocket, the lens doesn’t touch the surface at all — the frame takes the contact. The bump isn’t a styling trick: it’s dimensioned separately for each phone model based on how high the camera module rises on that specific model.
Raised edges keep the screen off the surface
When dropped, a phone most often hits a corner or falls screen-first. In that moment, a millimeter makes the difference.
Lastu’s front edge rises above the level of the screen. When the phone lands screen-side down on a flat surface, the case edge hits first — not the glass. The same applies to the corners: they have extra material exactly where they need to take the impact. The difference sounds small. In a screen replacement, it’s €200–400.
Fifteen years of drop testing
Every new model is dropped before it goes on sale. The tests show which corner the impact actually hits and how the shape of the case distributes the impact energy so it doesn’t transfer to the phone’s frame.
Drop tests are performed on a hard surface from several angles, because in real life a phone never falls the same way twice. That’s exactly why fit matters more than material thickness: a millimeter in the right place protects better than an extra layer everywhere.
Lastu isn’t decoration that just happens to protect. It’s a phone case that just happens to be made from real wood. Birch, bamboo fiber, M05 camouflage and fabrics look the way they look — but protection isn’t sacrificed for looks, and looks aren’t sacrificed for protection.
Grip that keeps coming up in reviews
One thing comes up in customer feedback almost every time: grip. Lastu feels different in your hand than a plastic or silicone case, and you'll notice the difference right away.
The reason is the material. Birch, KARB bamboo fiber, and genuine fabrics don't slide through your fingers like smooth plastic. Your phone stays in your hand — and a phone that stays in your hand doesn't drop. Read what customers say in their own words: customer reviews.
LEKA for the screen, KRIP for the grip
If you also want to protect the screen, add a LEKA screen protector to your order directly from the product page. LEKA is Lastu's own PET protective film: no bubbles, no feel under your finger, no slowdown to touch response. The case protects the frame and edges, LEKA protects the screen surface. Wondering about the difference between glass and film? Read screen protector or tempered glass.
Lastu phone cases are available as MagSafe-compatible versions, so the case works with every MagSafe accessory on the market. Lastu's own KRIP 2.0 finger grip attaches to the case with a magnet, gives you a secure one-handed hold, and works as a stand when you're watching videos.

Lastu phone cases are designed to be the kind you forget you're even using — raised edges, a camera bump, and a grippy surface handle the rest.
