KELO – grey wooden phone cases & protective cases
tar-treated birch, kelo-like tone | iPhone, Samsung, OnePlus, Pixel, Realme

Kelo doesn’t grow overnight. And it doesn’t shout. KELO is a grey wooden phone Case made from genuine Nordic birch – tar-treated, with a kelo-like grey tone and the quiet of the northern forest in your hand. The tone deepens with use, and every case ages in its own way. Fits iPhone 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, Samsung Galaxy, OnePlus, Google Pixel and Realme models. We support the latest models right after launch – including iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, Samsung Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37, and Google Pixel 10a. Add MagSafe or engraving and make your KELO case yours.

If you’ve been looking for grey phone cases and don’t want cold aluminum or matte black plastic, kelo is the third option: grey that was born by standing still. Great for outdoors and hiking too – made for everyday life, weather and forest trails.

Material: Tar-treated birch – kelo-like tone

Tone
Kelo
  • Greyish, dry tar treatment – like the surface of northern kelo wood: more weathered and calmer than dark TERWA.
  • Water-resistant natural product – not sticky, won’t stain your hands. A dry, smoky scent that fades in a few weeks, but stays in memory.
  • The wood grain shows beneath the greyish surface – every wooden phone case is unique even before anything is engraved on it.

Lastu was born in Finland – in a historic tar-trading city. KELO is a more understated interpretation of that heritage: drier, smokier, calmer. Read Lastu’s 15-year story →

Structure and protection

+ Textured edge profile – the tar surface adds natural grip. The wooden back stays secure in your hand on a hike, in the forest or in freezing weather.
KELO wooden phone case – textured edge profile keeps your phone secure in your hand even outdoors
+ Raised edge protects the screen – place your phone on the table without the screen touching it. In the forest, soft landing zones are not guaranteed. Drop protection test →
KELO wooden protective case – raised edge protects the phone screen, the glass does not touch the surface
+ Raised camera frame – the lens won’t touch the table, rock or tree trunk. Camera intact.

+ Thin and light. Birch is naturally lighter than most fully plastic phone cases – you won’t feel it in your pocket, and it won’t bulk up your backpack pocket.

Not from stock. From the Nordics, made to order.

Kelo wood doesn’t hurry. Neither does the KELO case.

Every KELO wooden protective case is made to order from genuine Nordic birch in Finland. The greyish tone comes from tar treatment and the wood’s own character – not industrially, not in a rush. Kelo stands in the forest for decades before it becomes kelo; we don’t quite go that far, but we don’t rush it either. See how the Case are made in Finland →

Tar Moderate, dry tar treatment – a smoky and calm scent. Not sticky, won’t stain your hands. Water-resistant.
MagSafe Available for all phone models. Does MagSafe need a case?
Engraving Symbol, animal figure, coordinates, logo or name. The greyish tar surface creates a beautiful contrast with the engraved birch.

Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between the KELO and TERWA phone case?
Both are made from genuine Nordic tarred birch. TERWA has a darker, stronger tone — a deep tar scent and bold contrast. KELO is lighter and more understated: the tar is lighter, the tone closer to nature. Choose based on your mood.
Is KELO better than a regular wooden phone case?
KELO stands apart from an ordinary birch phone case with its unique surface treatment: tar brings depth to the wood, a natural scent, and better resistance to moisture. Not a cheap mass-produced item - a Nordic material, made to order.
Would KELO make a great gift for a sauna lover or an outdoor enthusiast?
Absolutely. Tar is part of Finnish sauna culture and natural heritage. KELO is a meaningful and rare gift for someone who appreciates authentic natural materials.
Does it work with MagSafe, and which phone models does it fit?
Yes, MagSafe-compatible available. iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, OnePlus, Google Pixel and Realme. Made to order in Northern Finland, production time 2–8 business days.

What our customers say

Customer Reviews

Overall rating: 4.8 / 5 from 879 reviews.

KAAMOS – Puhelimen kuoret aidosta koivusta

Customer photo review of HIILI – Puhelimen kuoret mustasta koivusta 🇫🇮

Myöskin Leka näytönsuoja on iphone 15 pro puhelimeen väärän kokoinen. Reunat jäävät ns tyhjänpäälle ja puhelimen sivuista kevyellä puristuksella suoja nousee osittain irti näytöstä ja ilmakuplia ilmestyy kalvon ja näytön väliin. Muuten tuote erittäin hieno ja aion jatkossakin tilata kaupasta suojakuoria.

HIILI – Puhelimen kuoret mustasta koivusta 🇫🇮

HORSMA – Puhelimen kuoret aidosta koivusta

Ei saa mistään parempia ja tyylikkäämpiä suojakuoria. Ei löydy mitään moitittavaa. Todella laadukkaita. Istuu puhelimeen täydellisesti. Oisko jo kolmannet mitkä ostanut eri puhelimiin, muualta en enää osta.

Customer photo review of KAAMOS – Puhelimen kuoret aidosta koivusta

KAAMOS – Puhelimen kuoret aidosta koivusta

Kiva ostaa kotimaiselta. Tehkääpä vielä video puun matkasta metsästä kuoreksi, olisi kiinnostavaa seurata koko ketju terwauksineen kaikkineen. Kiitos ja terveisiä tyytyväiseltä käyttäjältä.

TERWA – Puhelimen kuoret tervatusta koivusta

Customer photo review of TERWA – Puhelimen kuoret tervatusta koivusta

TERWA – Puhelimen kuoret tervatusta koivusta

Kuori vaikuttaa laadukkaalta ja kaiverruksen lisääminen on hieno idea! Olen hehkuttanut kuorta jo muille. Olisin hommannut tällaisen jo aiemmin. Jos vain olisin ollut ko. tuotteesta tietoinen.
