At Lastu, responsibility is not just a marketing line — it has guided our work since 2011. Every material choice, production decision, and logistics solution is made carefully so the environmental impact stays as small as possible.
In short: Lastu’s phone cases are made to order from responsibly sourced materials in Finland, using renewable energy. Our shipments are carbon-neutral, and we support ocean plastic collection and carbon capture.
Materials — responsibly from nature
FSC-certified wood
All wood materials come from certified, responsibly managed forests. We never use endangered tree species.
Reindeer leather
A by-product of reindeer that roam freely in Lapland. A natural and culturally significant material.
Salmon leather
Leather refined from fish industry surplus. Circular thinking in practice.
M05 camouflage fabric
Authentic Finnish military fabric — a durable, recognizable, and long-lasting material.

All Lastu products are made in Oulu, Northern Finland. Our production is based on local renewable energy sources. Being Nordic means a shorter supply chain, better quality control, and Finnish jobs.

The Ocean Cleanup – freeing the oceans from plastic
We support The Ocean Cleanup project, which develops technology to collect plastic waste from the world’s oceans. The goal is to remove half of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch in five years. By buying a Lastu product, you are part of this work.

We use recycled and recyclable materials in packaging. Package size and weight are minimized without compromising product protection during transit.
