We clean up after ourselves

E-commerce deliveries have a carbon footprint. That’s why we support companies using cutting-edge technology to remove carbon dioxide from the air.

Together, the participating companies have already…

  • Removed thousands of tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere
  • Provided carbon-neutral delivery for over ten million orders

Here’s how it works: For every order, we calculate an estimate of the emissions caused by delivery. Based on this estimate, we direct a portion of our revenue to carbon removal companies that have been scientifically evaluated by the Carbon Direct organization. These companies use the funds to remove the same amount of carbon as our deliveries produce. Any extra funds are used to develop carbon removal technologies.

Let’s get to know a few companies that remove the emissions from our deliveries

Heirloom

Heirloom is developing direct air capture technology that enhances rocks’ natural ability to bind CO₂. The method speeds up mineralization without the need for energy-intensive fans to circulate air.

Remora

Remora collects CO₂ emissions from truck exhaust pipes while driving. The carbon dioxide is stored long-term in secure locations.

Charm

Charm uses plant waste to capture carbon dioxide. The waste is converted into a carbon-rich liquid, which is stored deep underground—out of reach from wildfires and erosion.
