Lastu has been part of sustainable development since 2011. At first, we planted trees in Zambia in cooperation with Greenpop. In 2016–2017, we donated 5% of our sales to WWF's conservation work. Now we are involved in cleaning the world's oceans by supporting the The Ocean Cleanup project.

The Ocean Cleanup develops technology that can collect plastic waste from the world's oceans passively with the currents. The goal is to remove up to 50% of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch within five years.

The Ocean Cleanup's system consists of a floating structure and a deep-sea anchor that slows the device's movement relative to the plastic. This enables efficient collection of plastic waste without endangering marine life or increasing carbon dioxide emissions.

The goal of the project is to bring the collected plastic back to land, recycle it, and sell it for reuse. The income generated in this way is used to finance the expansion of the cleanup operations to other marine areas.
