For over a decade, we have been making wooden phone cases, protective cases, cases, phone cases, and MagSafe cases directly in our own workshop in Oulu, sheltered by the old factory environment of the Åström house. Each Case is sanded, dyed, and finished by hand so that the wood retains what it was born for: its uniqueness and natural character.
Toxin-free treatment – truly toxin-free
When we promised to make products we could use ourselves every day, we knew one thing: everything must be safe, toxin-free, and natural.
That’s why we use ‘Colour-Finish’ wood dyeing according to EN71 and ASTM standards, the same level as children’s wooden toys. This means there’s nothing extra on the surface – no toxins, no harmful chemicals, no unnecessary compromise at the expense of safety.
The result of hundreds of tests: multilayer finishing
The journey to this point didn’t happen in a single night as long as the polar night. We have tested hundreds of different ways to treat, protect, and finish wood so that it withstands the daily life of a phone: sand, moisture, sweat, frost, coffee stains, camping stove steam, and even light washing.
The current multilayer finish is the result of this extensive product design. It:
- repels dirt and moisture – everyday splashes don’t stick to the surface
- makes the wood smooth yet natural to the touch
- protects the color from excessive wear
- gives each Case its own character – no two are exactly alike
