Fifteen years of stories from Oulu to the world

Lastu was founded in 2011 in Oulu. Fourteen years later, Lastu’s Case have found their way to more than 30 countries. Along the way, there have been recognitions, bold material experiments, and above all, a persistent desire to do things our own way.

2011 – the beginning

It all started with the idea of replacing the traditional plastic Case with something more meaningful – Nordic natural materials. The first products went on sale, and every piece was already one of a kind.

2014–2016 – the first recognitions

Lastu gained visibility and trust through major recognitions along the way: in 2014, the Design Act of the Year award, and in 2016, Sakari was named Young Entrepreneur of the Year in Finland.

2018 – the world’s first M05 Case

In 2018, Lastu made history by launching the world’s first M05 camouflage phone cases based on the official pattern of the Defense Forces. It was a statement: materials are not decoration – they are part of the story.

2019 – personalization and colors

In 2019, personalization took a big step forward. Color printing and adding your own images or logos made Lastu even more clearly what it is today: a platform for building a Case that looks like you.

2020 – collaborations and international growth

In the 2020s, Lastu expanded into collaboration projects. The RATIA collaboration sold over 20,000 cases, and a charity partnership began with the Your Finnish Friends organization. At the same time, shipments continued to reach more and more countries.

2022 – a digital leap and live preview
